During this medical training she started to work euregionally in the departments of Plastic and reconstructive surgery at the academic hospital of Maastricht (the Netherlands), the academic hospital of Leuven (Belgium) and the academic Klinikum in Aachen (Germany).

After finishing her medical school, she was trained in Plastic, reconstructive, and esthetic surgery at the University hospital of Leuven (Belgium).

During that period she defended a Ph.D. thesis on june 18th 1999 on the subject of craniofacial growth disturbances after facial palsy at the renowned Katholic University of Leuven.

Her work was awarded in 1997 with the prestigious Euraps nomination of the European Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; as well as in 2002 by the Belgian Society of Plastic Surgery by an Oscar nomination.

She attended multiple international congresses, gave several international presentations, and published various articles on diverse subjects in the plastic surgery field in ‘The American journal of plastic and reconstructive surgery’, an international reference journal.

She is mainly specialized in the management of facial soft tissue deformities as well as esthetic plastic surgery.
